Cookie Policy

Strictly necessary (always on)

Our own code sets no cookies. The only thing the site keeps in your browser without asking is your answer to the cookie banner. It is saved in your browser's local storage (localStorage) under the name vs_consent_v1 and holds three things: whether analytics is allowed, whether advertising is allowed, and when the choice was made. It is valid for 12 months, after which we ask again. It is not used to track you.

Before you choose, and if you refuse

Until you agree to analytics or advertising, the site does not load Google Tag Manager at all. Your browser makes no request to Tag Manager, no tag runs, and Google receives nothing from this site through it. Every consent signal of Google Consent Mode is set to "denied" by default and changes only with your choice in the cookie banner. If you refuse everything, Tag Manager stays off on this page and on later ones. If you allow only one of the two, Tag Manager is loaded and your choice for each category is passed to it through Google Consent Mode. Google's own tags follow that signal: for the category you refused they store and read no cookies, although, as Consent Mode works, they may still send limited signals that carry no cookies or identifiers. Google's cookies of that category that were set earlier on this site are deleted when you refuse. A click on a Reserve button that goes straight to Airbnb, on your choice between Airbnb and Booking.com in the box that opens when both are offered, or on an email or phone link is noted only in the page's own memory; it is handed to Tag Manager only if you agree later on that same page, and it is lost when you leave the page. Opening that box is not noted.

Analytics (with your consent)

If you allow analytics, Google Analytics, loaded through Google Tag Manager, sets its own cookies (typically _ga and _ga_ followed by an identifier) and records how the site is used, for example which pages are viewed and clicks on the Reserve buttons, on your choice between Airbnb and Booking.com and on the email and phone links. For those clicks only the click itself is recorded (which button it was, and the villa), never the content of a message or a call. We do not send your name, email address or phone number to Google.

Advertising (with your consent)

If you allow advertising, advertising tags can set their own cookies and measure whether an ad brought you to this site and whether the visit continued to Airbnb or Booking.com. Your choice also allows Google to use this data for ad measurement and for personalised advertising. If you do not allow advertising: if you refuse everything, Tag Manager is not loaded and Google receives nothing from this site through it. If you allow only analytics, your choice is passed to Tag Manager through Google Consent Mode and Google's advertising tags follow it: they store and read no advertising cookies, although they may still send limited signals that carry no cookies or identifiers. Google's advertising cookies set earlier on this site (names starting _gcl_ or _gac_) are deleted when you refuse.

The map

One thing on the site comes straight from Google and is not part of the cookie banner's choices: the embedded map in the location section of the home page (Google Maps). It is not loaded when you open the page. It loads only when you press "Show the map", and until then your browser makes no request to Google for it. So it is loaded only at your own request. Our own code sets no cookies for it, but once it loads Google receives your IP address and details about your browser, and inside the map frame Google may set its own cookies. The "Open in Google Maps" link opens the villa's own Google Maps link (maps.app.goo.gl) in a new tab only if you click it. The fonts are served by the site itself and cause no request to Google. Links to other websites

Airbnb and Booking.com (and, where shown, our Instagram and Facebook pages) are separate websites with their own privacy and cookie policies. Opening this site sends nothing to them; you reach them only when you click a link, which opens in a new tab. This policy covers only this website.

Managing your choice

Use "Cookie settings" in the footer to change your choice at any time. Your decision is remembered for 12 months, then we ask again.

The choice is saved in your browser, so it applies only to that browser on that device, and clearing the site's data resets it. If your browser blocks this storage, as some private browsing modes do, the choice lasts only for the page you are on.

If you change your choice to refuse everything, Tag Manager is no longer loaded on later page views. In the page where you change the choice, a Tag Manager that is already running keeps running until you leave or reload that page, but its consent signals are set to "denied" at once. Other tabs that are already open follow your new choice on their next page load. When you refuse a category, Google's cookies for it that the tags set earlier on this site are deleted from your browser: for analytics, the cookies named _ga, _gid or _gat and those starting _ga_ or _gat_; for advertising, those starting _gcl_ or _gac_.
